The Naturist Talks: Chris and Guido from Belgium

Naturism is a wonderful lifestyle that started in Europe but is now expanding towards the whole world. Most of the time we share our own views on the different aspects of nudism but once in a while we like to pass the mic to hear about how someone else’s experiences.
Our guests for today are Chris and Guido, a naturist couple from Belgium.

Hello Chris and Guido, tell us something about yourself

Hello everybody, we are Chris (64) and Guido(66) from Antwerp, Belgium. We’re married for already 45 years.(!?!oh boy!!) We have 2 sons and a lovely family with 5 grandchildren who like to play nude in the summer in their gardens. Human bodies are so wonderful and beautiful! But will they go on naturist holidays or naturist beach-days with their grandparents? We’ll see.

Chris has been running the household for a long time and Guido is now pensioned. So there is time for babysitting and chores for family and friends. Not so much time left for the photo hobby unfortunately. It’s been a few years since we had long term holidays, the reason was health problems of the sister of Chris, who died last year. We help as much as we can in the family.

How and at what age did you become a naturist?

We have been naturists for already about 18 years, we think. At naturist campings or hotels or surroundings we always feel like we are in the garden of Eden. Very friendly people, fine locations (no rubbish) and most often close to nature. And of course we like to have the sun present!

We started to go nude at a sauna and on silent (not crowded) beaches in Zeeland (Holland), for example Neeltje Jans, not at crowded beaches like Bredene, the only one in Belgium. So most often from our town we go to Zeeland, visiting the naturist beaches and the lovely villages, friendly Dutch people, and biking around!

Is naturism allowed in your country and what’s the public opinion?

Guido always talks freely about his nude holidays, so there was some laughing at his office several years ago. But that’s no problem. It is allowed in our country and by the public opinion and we have to respect each other. A lot of people go to saunas. They are very well equipped in Belgium, especially where we like to go : Seanat (naturist stays). A “private garden of eden” on the west coast of Belgium.
Even in our street we have several naturists. Belgium also has a lot of naturist clubs. We are member of Athena and from time to time we rent also a spot on their grounds in Ossendrecht (border of Belgium/Holland).

What do you think is the best and worst thing about naturism?

What we like the most about naturism is the feeling on your body, you feel the nature better, wind/water/sun which is heeling for your body. A lot of people with stress or health problems find wellbeing in naturism. It’s so relaxing to walk in the early morning a few kilometers along the coast line. Forgetting the small problems and enjoying your naked body, understanding that you are such a small living being in a big world.
And not understanding why people make such problems and war!

What we like the least about naturism is that people think we are obsessed with sex. Of course naturists have sex, but not in public. Some surroundings like Cap d’Agde and several websites are giving naturism a bad name.

Do you find it easy to make naturist friends?

On holidays we make friends quite easily. We had great Dutch friends who unfortunately died already, a pastor and his wife. At some place in France he was getting a bottle of wine in his car and felt glass in his leg. We went with them to the hospital to translate. For several years we had a very good time with our Dutch, French and Belgian friends over there. Of course most friends you make are about the same age as you. But age doesn’t really matter.

What’s the best tip you have for beginning naturists?

The best tip for starting as naturist is going to a small naturist beach, where you have a good distance from each other. You will stare and you will be stared at, but who cares! When you go to the doctor you have to undress as well! We are all the same : normal, skinny, fat, ugly, beautiful, you have to be happy with the body that is given to you!

Another tip is going to a private sauna and feeling comfortable in your body without having sexy thoughts! Guido has “menly” thoughts when seeing someone in a very sexy bikini but not when seeing naked people. This may sound strange but it’s just like that.

Anything else you’d like to share with our audience?

We would love to try to make ‘fine-art’ photos. In the future we hope to visit naturist surroundings in several countries, we hope to stay in good health and meet fantastic people as we always do as naturists. We already booked our holiday this summer at Seanat (Oostduinkerke-Belgium) and hope that we will get more naturist beaches in Belgium. (note : in the Netherlands there are probably more than 50!)

Get naked, make love not war, have respect for each other and don’t forget : live ‘s to short, try to live it to the most !

Thank you so much for your participation Chris and Guido!

“And not understanding why people make such problems and war!”
Oh, i know a great reson why there are problems and wars, but it has nothing to do with nudism so i wont get into , but just a little hint, it has nothing to do with hate or similar.
