Naturist Talks: Chris from the USA

As you may have read in the very first post of this blog, one of the main reasons why we started this project is to show the world that naturists are not some strange dark commune but that actually everyone could be one… Or could enjoy being one if they took the first step.

Our main example of “everyone” is of course ourselves, we write posts about naturism in general but also about our own experiences. But some of you might be thinking “Yes sure, those two are probably just the strange kids in the block…” (nah, we know you’re not thinking that about us, but we’re trying to write an introduction here). So we decided to let other naturists have a word as well.

So please sit back and get inspired!

Meanwhile we already published several interviews with people from all over the world. You can find them in the The Naturist Talks section.
Chris, 56, from Dallas, USA will share with us his ideas on the nudism.

Hello Chris, tell us something about yourself
I’m a divorced single male of 56 years old. I live by myself. I started into the nudist life style over 18 years ago. I’m a small business owner. I drive a 2004 tahoe. I live in the Dallas Texas area, which is not the best place to be a nudist, but I deal with what I have.

How and at what age did you become a naturist?
I became a full time nudist in my late 30’s. I had played around with nudity from my teen years, but I never knew there was such a thing as a nudist life style. I got nude with my step sister when I was a teenager. But I went full time nude after my divorce. My ex never cared for the life style.

Is naturism allowed in your country and what’s the public opinion?
My area is really a very conservative area. There are a few resorts within an hour and half drive. for the most part nudism is looked down on. But I do go nude around my house and my backyard and my pool.

We hate to divide people into groups, but we’ll do it anyway…
Do you consider yourself a naturist, a nudist or an occasional nudist?
Under these profiles I would have to say I’m a nudist. I enjoy being nude as much as I can be and I’m nude around most of my friends and family.

Do you find it easy to make naturist friends?
It’s been very hard to make nudist friends. I certainly has not been easy to find them. The majority were gay guys, there are a few couples, and even fewer women.
It’s difficult to find real nudist and not just people looking for sex.

What’s the best tip you have for beginning naturists?
Try it as often as you can. Start around your house, and then with friends. Then try the resorts. A real nudist is not going to care what you look like, and will accept you the way your are.

Anything else you’d like to share with our audience?
For myself, the nudist life style has been a place where I can relax and deal with the stress of the day. The freedom it brings me, I enjoy it being alone or around others.

Thank you so much for your participation Chris!

  1. Hey Chris, I’ve been sleeping in the nude since I’m sixteen the only way to sleep, i’ve otherwise been a practicing nudist full-time since my late twenties, it’s a great lifestyle, at least I think so don’t really who likes it or not. I used to live in Dallas as well and I have been to the Ponderosa a few times, very friendly place to go and enjoy being nude outdoors with other people. I always wished they would have started a place somewhere like in Sunnyvale or maybe McKinney but like you said they are kind of prudish down there. Have a great life and stay naked

  2. There are two nice nudist resorts (Bluebonnet and Wildwood) near Decatur, Texas NW of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.

    • They are both very nice! In the Austin area, we have Hippy Hollow on Lake Travis. Within the City of Austin, we have another clothing optional swimming hole, Barton Springs.
