What if you could work naked?

“Life is better without clothes”, you may have seen that slogan before. But it’s easier said than done. Sometimes the weather gets in between, or that prude aunt decides to come over for a visit. And then there are groceries, hobbies, and all those other things that you may wish you could do naked, but where your birthday suit isn’t really considered acceptable dress code.

For many of us, a large part of our lives is consumed by our jobs. Life without clothes may sound idyllic, but when your bank account is going into the deep red, there isn’t that much fun to it anymore. One way or another, we need to work.

So it’s not a surprise that we regularly receive questions about whether it’s possible to find jobs where clothes are not a requirement. Especially this time of the year, when the temperatures are rising and the days are filled with light, people start dreaming of a naked job. And, in fact, it is actually a valid possibility.

Work naked: how to find a naked job

Our obvious answer

Sometimes, we jokingly call ourselves “professional nudists”. But there’s some truth in this. Most of the time, we are working naked. In fact, most of the time, it wouldn’t really be appreciated if we worked with clothes on because when we’re creating content, we do so in places where we, and everyone else, are expected to be nude.

Becoming a naturist content creator is definitely one of the options if you want to spend your working time clothes-free. But it’s not as easy as it looks. We don’t want to make our jobs look like rocket science, but you need to be willing to be self-employed and to learn everything from creative writing to taking pictures to making videos. You’ll need to have an idea of the dynamics of sales and marketing. And you need to be willing to spend much more time behind a computer than any YouTube channel will make you believe.

Don’t get us wrong, it’s a great job, but especially at the beginning, you will be on your own. Doing everything yourself. Of course, you could try to find a job working for a naturist content creator. But we’re sorry, we’re not hiring.

Work from home

If there’s anything we’ve learned from COVID (other than that health systems matter more than people think and that group hysteria usually translates to a shortage in toilet paper), it’s that many people can actually do their jobs without leaving the house. Of course, this depends on your skills. If you’re a gardener, a plumber, or an electrician, it’s pretty hard to run a home office. There are options for you too, though. We’ll get to that in a moment.

But if you already have an office job, it’s likely that you have already worked a lot from home over the last few years. While some companies started calling their employees back when the pandemic was over, you may still have a few days when you’re allowed to work from your home office. And you may even get more. You see, the only thing that matters to your employer is that you’re doing a great job. So if you can prove that you perform much better in the solitude of your house, it would be mutually beneficial if you’d just do that as much as possible.

We’re not saying that every employer will fall for this, but it’s worth having the talk.

Work at a naturist resort

For many, this is the holy grail when it comes to naked working. What if you could work at a naturist resort? Especially at the larger ones, there are plenty of available jobs. There are gardeners, cleaners, restaurant staff, receptionists, you name it. If you have any of those skills, you should be able to land a job like that, no?

True, but there are some things to keep in account. One is that many resorts are seasonal. From mid-spring to mid-autumn, they need a lot of staff, the rest of the year much less. So either you’ll need to qualify for one of those rare jobs that require you to be there year-round, or you’ll need to find something else to do for half of the year. And even if you find a full-time job at a resort, there is a reason why they close down a few months of the year… It gets too cold to be naked.

Also, many resorts rely on volunteers. These people take some of the available jobs in exchange for free accommodation, and sometimes food and some pocket money. They don’t get a full wage, so you’ll already need to be somewhat financially stable before you can start doing a volunteer job. It’s not a coincidence that many volunteers are retired. Thanks to volunteering, they don’t need to spend on housing, so their pensions last a lot longer, and they can be naked all the time. But if you need the money, this isn’t an option.

Move to a naturist village

Many resorts call themselves “naturist villages”, but there are a few real villages in the world where it’s common to be naked wherever you want. There’s the (in)famous Cap d’Agde, there’s Vera Playa, and Charco del Palo. These are real villages where people actually live throughout the year. These people have needs, which you may be able to fulfil.

Our friend Tony, for example, whom you may have seen appear in one of our videos, is a professional photographer who lives in Vera Playa. People over there also need plumbers, gardeners, and someone who can fix the screen of their iPhone when they drop it again. Finding a job in a naturist village would allow you to live and work in a naked environment.

However… It’s not because nudity is socially accepted in naturist villages that everyone will find it acceptable if their plumber arrives fully naked. We’re just thinking out loud here. As many restaurants ask you to cover up in Vera Playa, we doubt that they’ll allow the person who has to fix the oven to walk in naked.

Talking about doing regular jobs in the nude…

What’s with the naked cleaners?

A few years ago, we first saw an ad for a naked cleaner company. In the following years, several other websites appeared offering a similar service. Taking a closer look, it turns out to be one of the best-paying naked jobs we could find, at rates of roughly £75 (around $100 USD) per hour.

Now, before you get all “Hey! I can clean! That’s so me!”, you can smell from afar that there’s something off. The people who buy these services are probably not that concerned about how clean their place is afterwards, and if you’re not a good-looking female in her twenties, you’re probably unlikely to land the job.

These are just escorts focusing on some kind of cleaner fetish. At least that’s what we think. On the other hand, if you were planning to order an escort but don’t really need the full two hours, you might as well have her do some mopping and dusting in the leftover time.

Become a nude model

A much more genuine way to earn a bit of money without wearing clothes is by becoming a nude model. Especially in art and photography, there is a need for people who are comfortable with spending some time naked in front of others. You can do this as an amateur, but if you’re dedicated to making a living from this, you can invest in modelling classes and become a professional.

Something to take into account though, is that these are rarely full-time jobs but rather side gigs. Work can be very irregular, and especially if you’re modelling for hobbyists, you’ll be working a lot on evenings and weekends. You will also need to be prepared to travel to different locations, wherever there’s a need for a nude model.

Offer paid online services

While we’re talking about nude models, it’s very easy to make the link with paid platforms like Patreon or OnlyFans. We know, these can be quite controversial, and it’s easy to think of those social media posts saying, “Hey, I’m a naturist, watch the new episode of my naked cooking show on my OnlyFans in which I have bent over three times to pick up my kitchen knife”

But there are more genuine ways to use that platform. For example, a lot of the earlier-mentioned naturist content creators, including ourselves, use Patreon as a way of getting support for our content.

An even better way is when you want to share a skill but don’t have a local real-life audience. If you’re a nude yoga instructor, nude wellness coach, or nude teacher, it’s often impossible to fill a class in your home town. By bringing your classes to Patreon, you can teach the whole world.

What’s your naked job?

You see, being able to work naked doesn’t need to be a dream. It’s actually a valid option, and people are making money through all of the options listed above. The downside is that it’s pretty hard to make a career or even a full-time job out of a single one of them.

If you’re serious about turning your workplace into a naked one, your best bet will be to combine options. You could move to a naturist village or become a volunteer at a resort, and in your free time, do some modelling, create a bit of content, or start a naked yoga channel on Patreon. And if you decide to become a naked cleaner after all, please let us know what it’s like!

  1. Another way to make some money as nudist and if you have a spare room/s is to offer a nude bnb stay. There are some websites that have naturist or clothing optional options and even airbnb has some hosts who advertise their places as nude friendly. May not make enough for a full time income but can be a nice way to provide some side money and to meet some traveling naturists.

  2. I’m an electrician, and a naturist, and I’ve had maybe 3 or 4 customers that have let me do the wiring in the nude. Some were around when I was working, and some were not. Probably by choice. So that can happen, especially when you’re working for friends. But the best option now is my clothing optional campsite, that has started taking off…(pun intended). I am now getting repeat customers and C.O. campers who enjoy having me stop by and socialize with them a few times during their stay. Of course, these are also two examples of seasonal options.

  3. You could work in a secluded area. Work on air conditioners at a naturists place. Clean pools in the nude. There’s alot of places you can work in the nude just have to use your imagination and the right vibe! Love it!!
