Nick & Lins Proudly Present: The Destination Clothes Free Website

Less than a month after we proudly presented our Clothes-Free safaris, here’s another announcement in what might become a “Proudly Presents” series: The Destination Clothes Free Website.

If you’ve followed us on social media or on Patreon, you’ve probably heard that we stopped travelling for a few months last winter to work on new projects. And the results are now slowly trickling through.

What’s the need for a new website?

“Oh no, not another website…” we hear you think while you’re reading this blog post at the breakfast table. Sorry, for some reason, when we try to imagine you reading our blogs, you’ve somehow just woken up and are sipping a coffee. No idea where that comes from. Anyway, aren’t there enough websites about naturism by now? What’s the need for yet another one?

The idea started a year or two ago when we decided to split up our YouTube channels. Back then, the need was clear. Some of you preferred to follow our travels and enjoyed watching us go to all these places, but got bored when we did often minutes-long resort tours. Others really wanted to see the places inside out but had little interest in what else kept us busy during our travels. By splitting into a Nick and Lins channel for the vlogs and a Destination Clothes Free channel for the informational parts, we gave you the chance to choose whatever part you preferred.

With this website, it was less obvious, largely because it has been around for about a decade by now and has already taken quite some different directions. At the start, Naked Wanderings was a travel blog in which we shared our opinions about naturist places and naturism in general. But now, when we look back at everything we’ve written so far, we recognise different phases.

There was a phase when we revolted against the ignorance of organised naturism. And later, the phase in which we embraced organised naturism. We had some kind of activist phase for a while. We had a commercial phase, which happened around the time when resorts started offering us freebies so we would write about them. There was a “musings” phase, in which we tried to dig deep into the issues concerning naturism. And probably a few other phases that we have yet to discover.

When we look back and think about it now (this is actually one of the things we did a lot during our recent travel break, looking back and thinking about things), it sometimes feels as if Naked Wanderings lost its identity along the way. So we started thinking about how we can get this back.

What will the new website be about, and what will change on Naked Wanderings

Basically, we want to apply the same approach to our website(s) as we did on YouTube. Naked Wanderings will go back to its roots with more personal stories, impressions, and visions. More practically, there will be fewer “10 things to pack to go to the nude beach” blog posts and more “what we learned from getting naked in Italy” posts, if that makes sense.

The whole informational aspect, as in where to go, how to get there, when to go, and what to pack, will move to Destination Clothes Free. This was pretty clear from the beginning: Naked Wanderings should return to being more “our story”, while Destination Clothes Free will focus on providing valuable information to the naked traveller. The only question we got stuck with for a while was in which format we would bring this information.

The last thing we wanted was to create (yet) another directory. There are already so many, and they all claim to be the most complete, but none of them really are. And also, we had our own shot at creating a naturist directory back in 2018, and that wasn’t such a success. Don’t get us wrong, directories have value, and we use some of them quite regularly. But they only work well if you already have a clear idea of where you want to go. But what if you don’t? What if you really want to be inspired?

This is our ultimate goal with Destination Clothes Free. We want to inspire your naked travels. We will not tell you about “every” naturist resort or nude beach in a certain place, but we will help you find the best one for you. Because in the end, that’s what will make your vacation memorable.

Are the best places only in Croatia, France, Spain, or Mexico?

Ha! Good one! You got us there… Obviously, the answer is no. The reason why only those four countries are currently listed on Destination Clothes Free is because we had to start somewhere, and those places sounded like a good start. In fact, if you’re thinking about taking your first steps into naturism, those places are really good ones to do so.

You can expect much more content to be added in the coming weeks and months. It’s a work in progress, and that’s exactly what it’s supposed to be, because the naturist travel world changes constantly as well. But no worries if your favourite destinations include Thailand, Saint Martin, or Florida, these and many others will be added to the website soon.

What’s next?

Other than creating new content for the Destination Clothes Free website, we are also still working on a few related projects. We can’t tell you much about them yet, but let’s just say that this was not the last blog post in our “Proudly Presents” series.

TO BE CONTINUED…

We would very much appreciate it if you’d share your thoughts about all this in the comments. Did you actually think “Oh no, not another website…”? Were you reading this at the breakfast table, sipping a coffee? And more importantly, what do you think about the concept of the Destination Clothes Free website? Are you planning to use it for your future travels? Do you think it will be able to inspire you? Do let us know!

  2. It would be nice to have a map of the locations where you’been with links to your blogs and vlogs, or to be able to find your information by country.
Perhaps you could place transcripts of your vlogs on your website too.

    • Very interesting points! We used to have a map, but it got outdated all the time. Maybe we’ll need to look into this again

  3. Since I will probably never travel, I really don’t need information about how to contact those places. I definitely DO enjoy your Naked Wanderings site. Seeing all of those interesting places is very enjoyable, and I really enjoy seeing some of the humor that you two throw in.

    • Thanks! We definitely don’t expect everyone to like both our websites. In fact, thanks to the split up, you can be sure that you’ll mostly read here what you actually like to read 🙂

  4. I’ve always read these articles while drinking coffee and eating breakfast, so you got that one right. Since my travels have so far been restricted to where I can drive, I’ve stuck to the east coast of the US. I’ve stayed in nudist resorts from New England down to Georgia, and I’m thinking of extending it to Florida soon, since I now have a small motor home to stay in. So I’m looking forward to that being added sometime in the future!

  5. Love your posts but you all are leaving out alot of nudist that can’t go nowhere because of various reasons. We love to be naked all the time but we have to work or run errands. Alot of us have a loved one that would rather die than go nude anywhere. Just saying there’s alot of content out there for us but nobody is talking about us. Just the ones that can travel. Thanks 😊!

    • True! There are many aspects of nudism that we don’t cover. Our channels are primarily travel channels that focus on nudist travel
